Membership

FreshRewards is available to natural persons aged 18 or older in South Africa. One verified email identifies one membership. You must provide accurate information and protect access to your email and registered devices. A mobile number can help an enabled checkout locate an unambiguous account for earning, but it is not proof of mobile ownership and cannot authorise recovery, merging, reward use or sensitive changes.

Earning points

Points are awarded only after an eligible sale is finalized at a participating branch. Eligible spend is based on the final VAT-inclusive net paid value after discounts and returns. Central exclusions may apply to products, departments, fees, deposits, gift cards or tenders. The current rate and any highest-priority matching bonus are applied centrally, and points are rounded down once per finalized invoice.

Points, value and expiry

Points are programme units, not cash, legal tender or a bank deposit. They cannot be sold, transferred or exchanged for cash. Each earn creates an expiry batch under the programme period shown in the app. Expiry warnings may be sent 30 and 7 days before expiry. A projected balance can become negative after a valid return or reversal; claims remain blocked until future earns recover that balance.

Rewards and claims

Published rewards may be mapped products, fixed-rand discounts or capped percentage discounts. Each has a point cost, active window, terms, settlement policy and participating-site requirements. One FreshRewards reward may be used per sale. Confirming a reward reserves points and creates one 15-minute Claim. Its QR, Code 128 barcode and manual code represent the same single-use session. Redemption is online-only, subject to reward availability, basket conditions, stock and local mapping, and is captured only with the committed sale.

Cancellations, returns and reversals

A cancelled or timed-out claim releases its point reservation. A completed redemption is not released as if unused; corrections follow the linked sale reversal process. Returns and voids reverse the points attributable to the original eligible sale, even if that creates a negative balance. FreshRewards may correct verified processing errors through new auditable ledger entries rather than editing history.

Account merging and deletion

Accounts can be merged only after successful email proof for both accounts and the approved support process. Deletion revokes sessions and consent, releases live claims, forfeits remaining points and anonymises eligible personal information while preserving pseudonymised records required for audit, settlement or law.

Availability and programme changes

Branches can be enabled for earning only or for earning and redemption. Missing product mappings, connectivity, stock or safety checks may prevent redemption at a site. Material programme rules, rewards, campaigns, manual adjustments, site suspensions and settlement closes use independent approval. Final provisions for operator identity, liability, disputes, governing law and notice periods require legal approval before public launch.
